Chapter · Problem

When word-of-mouth has been carrying the business.

When word-of-mouth has been carrying the business for years, the website ends up doing the credibility check after the conversation has already started, rather than before. Prospects who heard about the firm through a peer would land on the site, find a presentation that did not reflect the actual depth of the work, and feel a gap they could not articulate. That gap costs deals.

The internal challenge was different. A firm with senior principals, multiple voices, and a careful approach to messaging cannot do a rebuild on instinct. The build process needed structured staging, comment-by-comment review, and a punchlist discipline that matched the way the firm operates internally.

Chapter · Approach

Senior-stakes rebuild: structured staging, comment-driven review.

We approached this as a senior-stakes rebuild: structured kickoff, staging-first, comment-driven review, and a launch sequence built around the firm's internal team-reviewer process.

  • Kickoff session in January 2026 with the principals and the external project manager. Aligned on audience, voice, page architecture, and the use cases each page needed to serve.
  • Design and content development working in parallel: page-level copy assembled from internal expertise, stock and custom imagery curated, and a unified About page designed to do the credibility work the old site could not.
  • Staging environment built early so the team could see the site in motion, with the MarkUp tool used for comment-by-comment review and approvals.
  • Multi-round punchlist process. Two cycles of comprehensive comments from the principals were resolved, with each cycle ending in a documented set of changes pushed to staging.
  • Final team-reviewer handoff: the site moves from punchlist into broad internal review before public launch.

Chapter · Outcome

A site that lives up to the practice.

The Moss Group website is launching in May 2026. The build process gave the principals what a firm of their caliber needs: a website that matches the substance of the work, plus a structured review trail that proves the rebuild was as careful as the practice itself.

The post-launch goal is to close the credibility gap that word-of-mouth referrals were quietly running into. The early signals from internal review are that the new site does that work on the first scroll, which is the bar the firm asked us to clear.

For years our reputation traveled by word-of-mouth in a small field. The new site lets us show that same authority to people who do not already know us.
