Why Creative Nomads exists
  1. What we believe

    We were created to create.

Our work is to help mission-driven teams be seen, trusted, and acted on. We partner with people who take their craft as seriously as their cause.

  2. What we build

We build digital legitimacy for people doing serious work.

Donors give. Customers call. Readers subscribe. The mission moves. Every mission-driven team deserves an online presence that matches the weight of what they actually do.

  3. How we work

    Clarity precedes design.

Most agencies build first and ask later, or never. We refuse to. Before we wireframe anything, we figure out who the site is really for and what they need to do. A site that tries to serve everyone serves no one.

Our story

It began with service.

We never pitched our way into mission work. We served one organization well, Missio Nexus, and that trust opened the next door, and the next, until mission-led teams were finding us. Reach compounds when you earn it.

Where the craft comes from

The other half is communication. Working with Michael Jr., and on stages of every size, taught our founder, Jason Rutel, how a message lands in a room. Serve first, then guide the right people to act: that instinct shapes every site we build. More of Jason’s story is at jasonrutel.com.

On the name

Nomads have been misunderstood.

The drifter

Laptop in a coffee shop. No commitment. No home base. Wandering until the visa runs out.

The original

Shepherds. Moving intentionally through familiar terrain, season by season, leading their flock to good pasture. Not lost. Expert guides who know the landscape.

That is what we do in the digital world.

What we are not

We are not for everyone.

  • Not the cheapest. We over-invest in the first draft. If price is the only criterion, a template shop will serve you better.
  • Not the fastest. We take longer in discovery than most agencies. If you need a site live in three weeks, we are the wrong call.
  • Not the loudest. No outbound. No cold calls. No marketing decks. We grow by serving well and letting outcomes do the talking.

About the studio

What people ask before they work with us.

  • How big is the team?

Twenty-plus people across design, copy, engineering, SEO, motion, video, and project management. Senior on every engagement. No project gets handed to juniors after the sales call.

  • Where are you located?

Headquartered in Northwest Arkansas, with deep roots in Dallas-Fort Worth. The team is remote and global, and holds US business hours. The studio was founded in DFW in 2013 and relocated to NWA in 2024.

  • Are you a faith-based agency?

We are a faith-rooted, mission-led studio that serves clients across the spectrum: nonprofits, mission organizations, schools, personal brands, and local services. We do not require clients to share our convictions. We do require shared respect for the people the work is built for.

  • What kinds of clients do you say no to?

Work that exploits, deceives, or extracts. Gambling, adult, predatory finance, anything that makes the world meaner. We have walked away from work to keep that line clean, and we would again.

  • How is Creative Nomads different from a typical agency?

Three things. We name the primary audience and what clarity looks like for them before we wireframe anything. We publish our pricing and put the number on the table before work starts. We document the route so your team can run it after we leave. Most agencies do none of those.

  • How do we start working together?

Three doors. Score your site in three minutes for an honest read. Book a free human audit for a deeper look. Or open a conversation directly. We respond within one business day.

The standing invitation

Let's close the gap between the work you do and the way people see it.
